Romney Losing 847 Facebook Friends Per Hour

Many say a friend in need is a friend indeed - but this is not true for the Facebook friends, which we amass over a period of time and boast of our enormous numbers. But these are people who for a tit-for-tat bargain make friends, just as we do - no emotions involved.

The best example of such 'friends' was witnessed during the US Presidential elections  Both Obama and Romney started to compete on number fo so called friends or fans during the presidential campaign. The numbers rose to their extreme till the elections night.

But after Romney conceded defeat, his social media followers began dropping quickly. Since 11:30 on Tuesday, more than 55,025 users have unliked the Massachusetts Governor, at a rate of about 847 an hour, reports Kevin Collier for The Daily Dot at Mashable.

As for Obama, he had a jump in his 'likes.' He’s got 33,118,444 Facebook likes, which is 804,479 more than he had on election night and, most notably, 20,982,472 more than Romney had at his peak. Obama’s also up to more than 23 million followers, almost a million since election night, possibly helped by setting the world record most-retweeted tweet, twice, that night.
