Beware: Your iPhone may be spying on you, says Snowden

While the NSA whistleblower Snowden has let out many a secret, he has also warned the iPhone users to be careful as the hidden software may be revealing everything about the user to 'someone.'

According to The Independent, Snowden’s lawyer claims the whistleblower doesn't use a phone because of the secret software.

Snowden's Russian lawyer Kucherena  has told the Russian news agency RIA Novosati, quoting his client:

“The iPhone has a special software that can activate itself without the owner having to press a button and gather information about him, that’s why on security grounds, he refused to have this phone.”

It may be added that recently published files from the NSA showed that British agency GCHQ used the phones’ UDIDs — the unique identifier that each iPhone has — to track users.

We have already published a post that China has showed its reservations on the same grounds and iPhone has agreed to let the Chinese satisfy themselves by inspecting the iPhones and other Apple products.
