G Map: Windows 8 App from Pakistani Developers crosses 100K Downloads

The IT specialists and software programmers/developers in Pakistan generally remain unsung for their solo efforts, which should have otherwise made  headlines around the world.

But like the Groopic App developed by a Lahore based developers group, here is yet another feather in the cap of Lahoreites which have come up with G Maps, an unofficial but free app for Google Maps, has already been downloaded by more than 70,000 Windows 8 users with-in a week of its launch at Windows 8 marketplace, by first week of November.

This Ultimate Google Maps app for Windows 8 with Street View, Weather, Live Traffic and Photo stream support is is Developed by Data Arc, a Lahore based start-up specializing in software development for mobile and tablets for iOS, Android and Windows. 

Software firm claim to be amongst the the first companies that had submitted Windows 8 Apps from Pakistan.

The app is approximately 0.3 MB in size and can will help you to: - get directions (car, bicycle, public transit or walk) 
- print/email directions
- Places Search as Hotels, Restaurants, Shops etc.
- Live Weather Update
- Live Traffic Details
