VimpelCom to invest $1 Billion in Pakistan under its flagship Mobilink


Mobilink will be investing over $1 billion towards enhancement of its voice and data services, paving the way towards introducing 3G services as soon as it is licensed in Pakistan, said Jo Lunder, Group CEO, VimpelCom – Mobilink’s parent company – during a meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan.


VimpelCom continues to have a positive outlook on its operations in Pakistan, with Mobilink already having invested over $3.9 billion till date as part of its vision to reshape lives through connectivity.

The additional investment of $1 billion is part of VimpelCom’s aggressive plans to further consolidate its leadership position in Pakistan with the deployment of state-of-the-art next-generation mobile network equipment.
