Samsung Galaxy S-III takes a lead over iPhone as the most favourite Smartphone

Although the launch of Apple's iPhone 5 made a big bang and it seemed as if the world of smartphones from then on belonged to the Apple, but to the surprise of many Apple lovers, it is certainly not so. It is the Samsung Galaxy S III which reins the world market of smartphones and the no.1 choice of a majority of smartphone users around the world.

As per Strategy Analytics, Samsung Galaxy S III was the best-selling smartphone of the third quarter, and that Samsung sold 18 million of Galaxy S III during the July - September period. Earlier this month, Samsung announced that it had sold a total of 30 million GSIIIs since the phone went on sale in May.

Samsung packed a ton of features — including NFC, a burst-shooting camera and its own Siri clone, S Voice — into the Galaxy S III and then backed it with a massive marketing campaign. Strategy Analytics attributes the GSIII’s success to “a large touchscreen design, extensive distribution across dozens of countries, and generous operator subsidies,” among other factors.
