Television giant Netflix comes to Pakistan

For those who love watching streaming TV on the internet, here is some good news for people in Pakistan as Television giant Netflix announces inclusion of Pakistan in its expanding network.

However, the bonanza is not for free as some may think - The Netflix Pakistan website says users can watch TV shows and movies for $7.99 a month, with a free month offer - that is almost Rs. 1,000 a month, not bad for quality streaming of international repute.

With this launch, consumers around the world — from Singapore to St Petersburg, from San Francisco to Sao Paulo — will be able to enjoy TV shows and movies simultaneously — no more waiting. However, China has not been included in Netflix' expansion programme - the company says we will be there in future.

Other countries or markets without the service are Crimea, North Korea and Syria due to US government restrictions on American companies.

Good news for people that don't have local Netflix because streaming content online is much more convenient than watching DVDs etc. However, the new regions of Netflix will have a maximum number of 500 unique titles which is very low compared to US Netflix (5000 titles). If you want to get a good value for your money, you can use services like Unotelly and access all regions of Netflix. You get about 1000% more content with a minimum cost.
