ASUS announces USB-powered 15.6-inch monitors

Would you like your note to be connected to a 15,6 inch monitor with the help of just one USB 3.0 cable and convert your notebook into a PC on the move?

Well if you do, Asus has just announced a USB 3.0 powered 15.6 inch monitor that would just suit your taste and requirement.

The new 16.6 inch monitors allow the screens to be used with virtually any modern desktop or notebook. The monitors weigh 'just' 800 grams. ASUS has specified an active use of 5W and a standby consumption of 0W, which should ensure the battery of a notebook doesn't drain too fast.

The ASUS monitors from the MB168-series are available with resolutions of either 1920 x 1080 or 1366 x 768 pixels. The USB 3.0-interface is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 connectors. However, connecting the screen through USB 2.0 would reduce its brightness. ASUS has given its new monitors the same design as its Zenbook devices, with a metallic back cover.

The new MB168 additions are bundled with a case which doubles as adjustable stand. Brightness can be adjusted automatically and the monitors can also be used in portrait mode.

Besides, a dual-monitor set-up for presentations is also an option.
