Upcoming Samsung Flagship Galaxy S4 to be powered by Octa-Core Exynos 5 Soc

Samsung's upcoming smartphone flagship the Galaxy S4 will be powered by Octa-Core Exynos 5 Soc.

The Galaxy S4 recently appeared in Antutu Benchmark.

However, as you can see from the benchmark scores posted below, the scores are really low for a device powered by an A-15 Cortex CPU and the next generation Mali T series GPU or the high end PowerVR 5 series GPU . The benchmark scores much likley resembles the result for devices like Galaxy S3 or Note 2.

The benchmark goes on to reveal that the device runs Android 4.2.1 as well. Maybe Antutu benchmark tool isn't calibrated yet to calculate accurate results for the new SOC and GPU and might also have conflicting issues with JB 4.2.1 firmware that yielded such low scores.

No matter what the case, one thing is for sure that there’s no way these results depict Exynos 5 Soc’s real capabilities in terms of benchmark, the score should go at least beyond 3000. At this time it looks like the only way for us to be sure about the upcoming flagship device’s benchmark scores to be true is when the device gets released. We’ll keep you posted if there’s more development on the issue on the subject.
