Now as things get clearer, specs for Galaxy S5 start to appear which confirm earlier speculations and rumours about a new device this year. The new device is expected to have a phablet-sized 5.25in screen - more than .25 inches as compared to Galaxy S4, which will come in both metal and plastic versions.
There have also been rumours that suggest that it could have a heavily upgraded camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a brand new 64-bit processor.
Here are some of the Galaxy S5′s specs:
- QHD (2,560×1,440) Super AMOLED display - an improvement from 1920x1080 resolution of Galaxy S4
- Exynos 6 / Snapdragon 805 processor
- 16-megapixel camera
- Android 4.4 KitKat
- Plastic/metal versions
The 'likely' price tag of the metal version will be around € 800 and the plastic model around €650.
We hope to have an announcement made in March, likely in London, followed by a launch in early April.
In addition to Galaxy S5, there are confirmed news that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom after the launch of Galaxy S5, with an official unveiling taking place sometime in June and May respectively.
Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom are likely to have a Super AMOLED display (4.8-inch on the Galaxy S4 Zoom, of qHD resolution) based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
