Samsung not to show off Galaxy S4 at Mobile World Congress

It has been learnt that Samsung has decided not to show off its 2013 flagship Galaxy S 4 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress being held later this month, reports C|net quoting a Samsung insider.

However, a Samsung representative declined to comment to CNET.

The move is a continuation of the broader trend of larger technology companies utilizing their own events for major product announcements. Rather than battle through the noise of competing news, a solo event allows the product to get the full attention of consumers and media.

Over the past year or so, Microsoft and Samsung have dramatically reduced their presence at trade shows, following in the footsteps of Apple.
