The recently concluded CES had many new gadgets being displayed and some even getting attention of potential buyers as well. There were many Android smartphones with n5-inch screen and 1080p display, quad core processors and 13 MP cameras.
But should that mean buyers to panic and start buying what is being shown and not wait for MWC (Mobile World Congress) next month. In fact some companies are holding back their gadgets to be be unveiled in MWC and that would be the opportune moment to make decisions - not right now.
There will be new releases from HTC and LG, RIM’s BlackBerry 10 will arrive, and there’s never a shortage of new iPhone rumors, but the device you can’t afford to ignore is the Samsung Galaxy S4, says Simon Hill at Digital Trends.
At the CES, 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate, Sony’s new flagship, the Xperia Z, with a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core processor, and a 13-megapixel camera, and ZTE Grand S and the Huawei Ascend D2 have been announced and displayed. Even the Xperia Z with its waterproof ability was impressive - but nothing beyond HTC Droid DNA, announced November last year.
So it is better for the Samsung's eight core Galaxy S 4 to wait for - something that brings in new technology to last fro another couple of years rather than what is already at hand and is aging.
So would you wait for a future tech or spend and waste money on flashy gadgets laced with already stale tech?
I think you would wait.
