Samsung testing three designs for Galaxy Note 3 including 'Galaxy S4-like'

Do you like rumors? Well these are real fun - speculating, gossiping about something yet to appear officially. It is always so whenever an important device, gadget, smartphone or a note is about to appear.

Now that the Galaxy S4 has been much talked about, let us gossip a little about Samsung's forthcoming Note 3 and its design.

It seems, according to one of the may rumors in the air, that Samsung is looking at three different internal Galaxy Note 3 versions, one that follows the design lines of the Galaxy S4, one that features a “completely different design,” and one that comes packs a flexible display.

Well Samsung has recently been upbeat about its flexible screens but not actually revealing when such screens will surface. While LG is also joining the race with a possible launch of device with a flexible screen later this year, Samusng may make it a point to do it earlier than LG or anyone else. Which makes Note 3 a fit case for a flexible OLED screen.

However, if Samsung doesn't come up with a flexible display on the upcoming Note 3, at least it may have a different design this year. With all that said, nothing is official yet as Samsung hasn't hinted towards the possibility of any rumor being true, so take all these rumors with a grain of salt for now !!

Call of Duty: Ghosts’ publisher launches teaser site

It has been learnt that Call of Duty: Ghosts’ publisher, Activision, has launched a teaser site for the upcoming game.

The site probably aim at gauging the number of players who are interested, and perhaps to help spread the word around, the teaser site is asking fans of the series to link their Facebook and Twitter accounts to the page and to send out messages notifying their friends or followers about the upcoming game.

It is presumed that eventually a mosaic on the website (pictured above) will be filled and will eventually reveal an image, presumably the mask worn by the character Ghost.

Instabeat is the swimmers' Google Glass

Google glass has already made headlines since its introduction. But it only provides you with directions and calculates distances from present to future locations and many more add-ons.

But what do you do if you are a swimmer? Would Google Glass be of any help?

Well certainly not - but there is one gadget that is of immence help to swimmers - something that continously calculates your heart rate, lapses and turns during the sim - and even lets you know hoe many calories have you burnt.

Surprised? Well don't be as 'Instabeat' is one such gadget which a swimmer can wear on any type of headgear while swimming and keep him/her updated about essential things one may be most interested in while swimming.

Instabeat reads your heart rate from the temporal artery, getting rid of the (oh, so annoying) chest belt - and projects a color on your lenses in real-time to know how close you are from your target zone.

This sleek designed gadget weighs only 30 g and calculates heart rate to an accuracy of 97%. It has a rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery that lasts 8 hours.

Would Apple's iOS 7 be visually different?

While there have been lot ot speculation about Apple's forthcoming iOS 7, a recent report says that iOS 7 will wear a very different look from its present and previous iterations.

C|net quoting 9to5Mac reports that Apple's making big changes in the look and feel of the software. Specifically making everything -- from app icons to interface features -- "very flat," as opposed to the bubbly and oftentimes realistic interfaces that have stayed mostly unchanged since 2007.

It is also reported that Apple is looking into additional ways to access basic information with gestures, similar to what it currently uses with a one-finger swipe to bring up Notification Center, and a four-finger swipe on the iPad to pull up the multitasking menu.

In taking a flat approach to its system software, Apple would join Microsoft and Google, which have gone that route with their Windows Phone and Android software. In both of those cases, the changes reflect part of a larger design language that can be found in other products and services.

The new iOS is expected to make its debut at Apple's WWDC on June 10. The show, which is typically attended by about thousands of developers.

LivingSocial Hacked - Hackers Take Away Personal Data of 50 Million

In one of the worst social media 'robbery' hackers who hit the LivingSocial are reportedly have stolen personal data of more than 50 million people.

In his e-mails, LivingSocial CEO Tim O'Shaughnessy wrote, "We recently experienced a cyber attack on our computer systems that resulted in unauthorized access to some customer data from our servers. We are actively working with law enforcement to investigate this issue."

He advised customers to create a new password. LivingSocial has subsequently reset customer passwords, although it's not clear if all customers' passwords were reset or just those who were affected by the hack.

The Washington, D.C.-based site, owned in part by Amazon, claims around 70 million customers worldwide. The company's divisions in the Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand remain unaffected because they are hosted on different servers.

In view of this, If you're using the same password on multiple sites, now's the time to change them.

Water and Dust Resistant Sony Xperia ZR Rumors Surfaces

If a new rumor is to be believed, Sony is working on yet another Xperia Z smartphone that goes by the name, Xperia ZR. Revealed by Xperia Blog, the smartphone is said to borrow the design of Xperia ZL and adopt water and dust resistant properties, similar to Xperia Z
Aside from above features, the biggest change in terms of features compared with it Xperia Z brethren is that the Xperia ZR will ditch the 1080p 5-inch display and will boast a 720p 4.6-inch display instead. Rest of the specs include a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, a 13MP Exmor cam, 8GB storage, microSD and a 2300mAh battery.
Judging from the fact that Xperia ZR might feature a smaller display with less resolution than others in the family, the smartphone might lie somewhere between mid-ranged to high-end devices in terms of cost, making it slightly more affordable for consumers. If today’s rumor turns out be true, Sony is expected to make the official announcement soon. Are you looking forward to yet another addition in the Xperia Z series?

Nokia Set to Unveil New Lumia Windows Phone on May 14th

Nokia has sent out invitations to its event today, in which the company promises the “Nokia Lumia story” will continue in an event being held in UK on May 14. It appears that Lumia 920 might no longer remain the company’s flagship smartphone, as the upcoming event fuels the speculation of 5-inch phablet or Lumia EOS.
A few weeks ago, a rumored Nokia was expected to release today but it turns out to be false flag. Instead, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer hands out media invite for new Lumia device unveiling next month, which perfectly coincides with Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, previously hinting at new Lumia device to be announced later this quarter.
With the certainty of many devices to get unveiled, it’s unclear which device Nokia plans to launch. However, considering the fact that the event is said to be six hours long, it’s much possible for Lumia 928, Nokia Catwalk and Lumia EOS to get unveiled in the same event. Are you looking forward to the event?

LG Bringing Out Smartphones with Flexible OLED Display in Q4 2013

Whenever we hear about “Flexible Displays”, Samsung’s Youm display comes in to our minds, but now it seems like LG wishes to enter the same loop as well. Apparently it has been confirmed that LG would launch a smartphone packing a flexible OLED display in the fourth quarter of the year.
Just so you’re wondering, LG didn’t hold an official press conference to reveal its intentions, rather it was vice president of LG’s mobile business ,Yoon Bu-hyun, who disclosed it during a conversation with Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.
However, he didn’t mention any other details regarding this upcoming device featuring a Flexible display. Without anything to go, it’s too early to speculate if such a display would be featured in mainstream smartphones like it Optimus G series or will make its debut on a new series of smartphones.
The flexible display had been rumored to be featured on Samsung’s upcoming phablet Galaxy Note 3before and taking today’s discovery into consideration, it looks like smartphone manufacturers are interested to pack these displays in future smartphones. Are you looking forward for upcoming smartphones to feature flexible displays?

Windows 8 Gains 7.4% Tablet Market share with 3 Million Shipments in Q1 2013 [Report]

Microsoft has kept its silence regarding how the Redmond Company has been  doing after cracking the tablet market with Windows 8 devices. However, that didn’t stop analysts to keep tabs on Microsoft’s progress as according to Strategy Analytics, 3 million Windows 8 tablet devices have been shipped in Q1 2013, which has raised Windows 8 market share from 0 to 7.8% in the global tablet OS market.
According to Strategy Analytics figures (shown below), compared to the dominant players in the tablet OS market – iOS and Android – Microsoft’s share is still very modest. The report points out that less figures were as a result of “very limited distribution, a shortage of top tier apps, and confusion in the market, are all holding back shipments”. Another interesting thing regarding the figure is the fact that while Apple leads the market share, it has faced a dramatic decrease in its share from previous share, as a result of Android’s dominance.

Considering the fact that it’s Microsoft’s first attempt to penetrate the hugely saturated tablet market, it has managed to gain decent a decent traction. With the upcoming affordable line up of 7-inch Windows 8 tablets, the platform is surely expected to get a boost in its tablet shares. Are you looking forward to buy a Windows 8 tablet?

J.K. Shin: Don’t Worry which Processor Powers your Galaxy S4

With previous releases of Samsung smartphones, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3, the Korean conglomerate pushed out two different versions, LTE and non-LTE. For the non-LTE/International version, Samsung shipped out smartphones with its own Exynos SOC while the LTE version, mainly intended for customers in U.S. and Europe, packed in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SOC instead, as Exynos didn’t support LTE.
However, this year’s Exynos 5 Octa SOC finally came with support for LTE but Samsung still decided for its U.S. variant of Galaxy S4 to stick with Snapdragon SOC once again. This lead to negative tech press as they were criticized for the lack of an eight-core chip in the U.S…
In the light of the above events, the head of Samsung Mobile and the co-CEO of Samsung Electronics J. K. Shin, shed light on the absence of Exynos Octa SOC from U.S. and European variants. Shin revealed that while their new Exynos Octa SOC does support 4G/LTE, the use of the two processors was a decision made because of supply and demand.
Shin continued to say that the company chose processors that provide a similar consumer experience and hence the average Joe on the street won’t notice a difference in performance. With the said, Shin stated that U.S. and European markets will continue to receive the Snapdragon 600 variant of Galaxy S4.
As evident from reviews on U.S. variant of Galaxy S4, the device performs really well in terms of benchmarks as compared with its competitors, and incorporates possibly the best mobile GPU at this time. Are you disappointed by Samsung’s decision to feature Snapdragon SOC instead of Exynos Octa?

JailbreakMe Mastermind Comex Joining Google

It has been learnt that Comex - the revolutionary developer of Jailbreak Me 3.0 tool for iOS 4 has informed via Twitter his plans to intern at Google.

It may be recalled that Comex terminated his stint with Apple just about six months before.

It is speculated that Apple hired Comex, real name Nicholas Allegra, to essentially suppress his powers and prevent him from actively jailbreaking. Now with Google on the scene, Comex may get back to doing what he does best.

Comex, who is regarded by many to be one of the world’s very best, caused a stir a couple of years ago with the release of the insanely easy-to-use JailbreakMe 3.0 tool, which allowed iOS device owners to free their iPhones and iPads from the Cupertino shackles by simply pointing to a webpage and performing a simple "swipe to jailbreak" gesture.

Samsung Galaxy S4 May Fall Short of Supply due to Overwhelming Demand

Just yesterday we informed our readers about an announcement by T-Mobile that their delivery schedule may be pushed forward from 24th to 29th April. But now it seems Samsung's 2013 flagship Galaxy S4 will face more supply problems due to its overwhelming demand.

A Samsung official has been quoted as saying: "We expect to fulfill inventory to meet demands in the coming weeks."

The issues have already affected two U.S. carriers. Sprint Nextel will still offer the phone via its Web site and telesales on April 27, but gave no word on when it would actually have the phone in stores. T-Mobile delayed its launch by five days to April 29, and likewise said it would be limited to online availability.

It may be recalled that traditionally it is the Apple that faces such supply-demand problems. But coming this problem from Samsung has taken many by surprise as Samsung has never encountered such problem before.

This in fact shows popularity of Galaxy S4 which due to its powerful eight-core processor and many upbeat features is the hotcake of smartphone market at present.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Delayed on T-Mobile

While the T Mobile had earlier announced the Samsung Galaxy S4 availability at its outlets from 24th April  there is a week's delay in the S4 availability.

As announced in a statement issued on the official site of T-Mobile the statement dated 2013-04-24 11:18:41 reads:
We know customers are really looking forward to getting their new Samsung Galaxy S 4 soon. However, due to an unexpected delay with inventory deliveries, the Galaxy S 4 will not be available on www.T-Mobile.com as planned on Wednesday, April 24. Instead, online availability is expected to begin on Monday, April 29. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working with Samsung to deliver the device to T-Mobile customers as soon as possible.

Although the Samsung enthusiasts will be rather disappointed  however, one week isn't much of a delay and will add more to the ecstasy as the wait prolongs. Don't you think so?

Android 5.0 Launch Pushed Back by Months

All those who have been anxiously waiting for Android 5.0 launch may have a setback as it is rumored that the launch has been delayed for months.

Although the annual Google developer conference is due next month, but it is heard that the search giant won’t be unveiling its next major version of mobile OS, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, until 2-4 months more.

It is speculated that Google has delayed their latest offering to leave some breathing room for its OEM partners, which are currently struggling to catch up with the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Previously, whenever Google used to unveil an updated version of Android OS, new releases of smartphone would come out with 1-year old version of the platform as Google hadn't allowed enough time to its OEM partners to get ready for the new software.

If this rumor turns out to be true, then it seems like Google wants OEMs to be prepared when the latest iteration of the Android OS gets deployed. At this point however, the contributor to Android Platform Development Kit (PDK), Sony, is reported to already have gotten their hands on Android 5.0 PDK, although it’s unclear if they’re the only one to have received it.

When Mozilla announced on 22 April that its its Firefox OS developer smartphone will go on sale yesterday via Geeksphone, even Mozilla did not have the idea how the customers would react.

And when the Geeksphone put the first Firefox OS developer smartphone on sale, the retailer went out of stock within hours - as if they were selling one pound fish.

The retailer offered two versions of the Firefox OS phones, Keon and Peak. Keon is the low-end version priced at $119,which come in orange color and features a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 1GHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 4GB internal storage with an expandable MicroSD card slot, 512MB of RAM, and a 3MP rear-facing camera.

LG Optimus G Pro to Make its Debut on May 1 in NYC

We have had almost all major flag carriers unveiled except Apple and LG. While Apple's iPhone 5S and next gen iDevice seem to be on the hold, LG has sent out invites last week for an upcoming event to be held in New York City on May 1, which makes us speculate the possible launch of its phablet, Optimus G Pro.

However, yesterday LG has finally revealed the mystery by unveiling the debut of its own version of Galaxy Note 2 competitor, in a media invite.

The invite also promises a concert event featuring performance of a band “Atlas Genius”.

Judging from the fact that LG’s rival smartphone manufacturers have already brought their flagship devices, like HTC One, Galaxy S4 etc. to the U.S. market, the timing couldn’t be more perfect for LG to bring its big guns to provide consumers with more choice before they get stuck on contract with other smartphones.

LG Optimus G Pro comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera and smart Video eye recognition feature.

Apple's Next iDevice Expected to be Delayed

Apple is finding some difficulty in fielding its next iDevice and it is expected that the device may be delayed until Fall.

It has been reported that Apple has 'returned' EIGHT million iPhones to Foxconn apparently because the unites were not fit for sale, potentially costing the contract manufacturer north of $1 billion to make replacements.

iDownloadBlog, quoting Reuters, also reports that Apple won’t launch the iPhone 5S this summer because it is still trying out various coating materials in the hope of finding one that won’t interfere with the handset’s fingerprint sensor.

If this happens, Apple's business seems in jeopardy as further delays will not only disturb its commitments but will also have an adverse impact on its customers who have been waiting for Apple's next device since long. Reuters reports that indications of reduced shipments are ticking Apple’s suppliers off, as their own revenues depend on orders from Cupertino, California.

It may be noted that Apple shares closed the week below $400, a far cry from the September 2012 peak of $700+ a share and a new low for the firm since December 2011.

Photos of Samsung’s new Design Released by Evleaks Are Fake

Evleaks recently posted a picture of a Samsung device which it claimed was part of the Samsung's new design guidelines.

However, SamMobile has hit back and has confirmed, quoting an Samsung insider, that the Evleaks photo is totally fake.

It says that the photo that appeared on the net is in fact is that of the Galaxy S4′s developer prototype.

SamMobile further adds that:

  • "Evleaks has been a very reliable source in the past but, recently, his information about Samsung devices has been incorrect and misleading. Previously, Evleaks leaked what was claimed to be a press render of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S IV but that render was also fake, and was made by Expansys’ Web Designer. Today once again he has been proven wrong."

Microsoft Eying smaller tablet market as a competitior to iPad mini

The Outgoing Microsoft chief financial officer Peter Klein tipped the fact that the company has its eye on the smaller tablet market.

By 'smaller tablet market' it is implied that Microsoft has a device competitive to Apple's iPad Mini.

"We are working closely with OEMs on a new suite of small touch devices powered by Windows," Klein said. "These devices will have competitive price points, partly enabled by our latest OEM offerings designed specifically for these smaller devices, and will be available in the coming months."

The "competitive price points" Klein refers to are the result of price cuts Microsoft has instituted in light of the faltering PC market and weak demand for the company's newest Windows 8 software. Some observers believe that part of the problem lies in the expensive nature of full-size touchscreen devices, and Microsoft is looking to encourage development of smaller, cheaper devices to grow market share.

What is uncertain is whether Microsoft will be among the manufacturers rolling out Windows-based mini competitors. Klein specifically mentioned OEMs, but recent reports have the Redmond company working on its own 7-inch tablet.

Such a device has been rumored since November, with some saying it could be tied in to the next generation of Microsoft's Xbox console.

Micro-Battery that Charges Cell Phone in ONE Second

This may not be believed by many - but one day it would be when this magical battery sees light in the market.

Scientists at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have created an incredibly small, incredibly powerful battery that could vastly improve technology moving forward. The new micro-battery charges 1,000 times faster than regular batteries - and will charge your cell phone in ONE second.

The batteries are not only small enough to be used in tiny phones and gadgets, but are also powerful enough to be used in emergency equipment. Indeed, they are powerful enough to jump start a car battery.

The scientists are now working to create a way to create the batteries inexpensively so the batteries can be sold.

Beware: Apple Stores Your Siri data for two years

We make many calls on Apple devices and use Siri for chats - unknowingly that every time we use Siri chats, our data is superstitiously been stored by Apple - for good two years.

Apple has recently revealed exactly what happens to your Siri chats. Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller told Wired on Thursday that Apple may keep your Siri data for up to two years, albeit in an untraceable state.

Whenever you talk to Siri, your commands are uploaded to Apple for analysis. Apple then assigns you a random number, which it associates with your voice files. It's this random number, although not your Apple ID or e-mail address, that gets stored on the back-end.

However, after six months or if you simply turn Siri off, Apple will disentangle the number from your Siri files, severing all ties with you. The files themselves will stick around for another 18 months as Apple uses them for testing and product improvement.

Transcripts "of what you say to Siri could reveal sensitive things about you, your family, or business," she told Wired. "Siri works for Apple, so make a note to yourself to really think before you speak."

Nokia Planning 5-inch Lumia Phablet

Nokia's Lumia has been making headlines all over the world and has already started to make inroads in the business for a size bale market share.

Now seeing its growing popularity, Nokia is said to all set to jump into the 'phablet' market later this year.

Reportedly, Nokia's phablet with a 5" screen - at power with Samsung's Galaxy Note is likely to hit markets this year. If this happens, Samsung beside Apple will have another competitor to deal with.

The timings seem perfect as Microsoft is already planning to update Windows Phone 8 for supporting 1080p displays. This will aid the Finnish smartphone manufacturer to take advantage of resolution by introducing its variant of super-sized phones.

The possible release of the Phablet is said to be a part of Nokia’s Lumia range of smartphones releasing this year. Aside from that, Nokia’s “EOS” PureView Lumia, which is basically the 808 PureView but running on Windows Phone instead, is also lined up for release this July. Also, Nokia’s first ever Lumia with a metallic build, dubbed as Catwalk, is also in 2013 portfolio of Nokia.

The Iron Man 3 game will arrive on 25th of April – just a few days before the movie launches in the first week of May.

Nokia Taking Over Sizeable Marketshare of Smartphones - Ships 5.6 Million Lumia in First Quarter

I was never really interested in Nokia and always looked away form it. But that was awhile ago.

Recently, I am amazed to find Nokia making inroads into the smartphone marketplace and seizing a sizable and meaningful market share of smartphone since it introduced its flagship Lumia.

Now it is reported that Nokia sold its Lumia line of smartphones with a record breaking shipment of 5.6 millions pieces just in the first quarter of 2013. This is huge number and shows a 25% increase in its shipment as compared to 4.4 million in last quarter of 2012.

The report that appeared Thursday also mentions that two third of those Lumia devices sold in Q1 2013 were running Windows Phone 8 (WP8).

Nokia also took a hit in the U.S. market by facing a 33 percent year on year decline as it’s heavily dominated by Apple and Samsung. With the upcoming Verizon Lumia 928 launch, Nokia might manage to get the needed boost they want to maintain footing in the region.

This really makes Nokia competitive and a threat to leading smartphones like iPhone, Galaxy and HTC. And I am seriously thinking of changing over to Nokia - Are you?

Google Glass will be Deactivated if User Resells it - or even Loans it Out

For Your Eyes Only - Google Glass cannot be Resold or Loaned Out

Google Glass - a glass for the rich which is magical and innovative and costly too, $1,500 a piece.

While it provides unique services to its users, it comes with stringent terms and conditions.

It has now transpired that reselling or even loaning the Google Glass to someone else will deactivate the service embedded into the glass and will lose all its charm and usage.

Wired has dug out the Google Terms of Service which reads:
“You may not resell, loan, transfer, or give your device to any other person. If you resell, loan, transfer, or give your device to any other person without Google’s authorization, Google reserves the right to deactivate the device, and neither you nor the unauthorized person using the device will be entitled to any refund, product support, or product warranty.”

That's not the only limitation placed on the new eyewear. Google, which generates 95 percent of its revenue through advertising, doesn't want developers placing ads on the hotly anticipated eyewear. The terms state that "Glassware" developers may not "serve or include any advertisements" and they "may not charge" users to download apps for the device.

Welcome to the New World, one in which companies are retaining control of their products even after consumers purchase them - never heard of such conditions before. Did you?

Would iPhone 6 have a 'Transparent Display?'

Now that all major smartphone manufacturers have shown their cards and have made public their flagships for 2013, Apple is still hiding info about its forthcoming iPhone 6 later this year.

This delay and holding back info definitely leads to speculations and gossip. And that is what we have today in the post.

Now the news have it that the next iPhone 6 or whatever will be 17% thinner than the already svelte iPhone 5, packs a 10-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, and an upgraded A7 processor.

But that is not all as yet.

German designer Eric Huismann has once again explored the idea of a transparent display in his ‘iPhone 6′ design.

As speculated, the entire span of the display is completely transparent, while the top and bottom areas remain opaque.

But where is the hardware if the display is transparent? Well all of the hardware features seem meticulously squeezed into the upper and lower compartments that are opaque. And it is in these thin upper and lower chambers is housed an A7 processor for "even better" performance, and that 10-megapixel snapper offering full-HD video recording.

How would you like it if it turns out to be so?

Samsung Explains Absence of FM Radio in Galaxy S4

When Galaxy S4 was launched, many potential buyers were intrigued to find the absence of a FM radio in it. And there seemed no plausible excuse for that.

However, Samsung finally breaks cover and speaks out the the 'why' of FM radio absence in S4.

The clarification comes from an official of Samsung in Russia. When Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru asked to comment on the lack of FM-chip in the Galaxy S4 Russian representation of Samsung and received an official response:
"Our studies show a trend shift of interest to digital broadcasting - namely, the focus on listening to music content on social networks or on the channel YouTube. The flagship model of our devices targeted at customers who use digital content, which use modern formats and channels of information consumption."

A recent survey showed that of 11,000 people, 40% would still want a FM radio on S4 - a large percentage that cannot be ignored. The lack of FM-tuner certainly cause resentment among a number of potential buyers of new items and possibly force them to look at other models, notes Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru.

What is your opinion?

Apple may not let Facebook Home have a bite of iPhone

While the launch of Facebook Home was received with lot of exuberance by Facebook fans, there may be some not very good news for Apple users.

The analysts are of the view that it is least likely that Apple will surrender its iPhone interface to that of Facebook Home.

Herein under are some of the experts/analysts' views and apprehensions about Apple falling in love with Facebook Home:

"Apple will not do Facebook Home as implemented in the first version of Android. Absolutely not," said Patrick Moorhead, principal analyst with Moor Insights & Strategy.

"The chance of that happening is slim and none," chimed in Jack Gold of J. Gold Associates. "Facebook may be dogging anyone who listens, but Home as it exists today will not be on iOS," said Gold.

"Never," replied Van Baker, an analyst with Gartner, when asked his take on the likelihood that Apple would give up its home screen, even its lock screen, to the interactive Facebook Home. "Why would Apple ever surrender the home screen? Apple believes that Facebook is important, they don't want to surrender anything to the Android platform, but they would never allow Home on the iPhone."

So there goes any hope of Apple users being ecstatic about Facebook Home.
